We would like you to join Amina’s Gift on a tour of southern Africa. These tours will give you an opportunity to see the work we are doing in rural areas. They are not your typical tourist adventure, but a very personal experience. We will visit the schools and kids that we support, as well as several of the local communities and villages that produce the remarkable stone sculpture for which they are internationally known.
We will begin our journey in vibrant Johannesburg, South Africa. While there, we will tour the city, eat some of the local food, and visit the stunning Apartheid Museum. Our journey will then continue to Zimbabwe, where we’ll visit schools and communities that are supported by Amina’s Gift. The third segment of our journey will be to Victoria Falls. Here we will visit the magnificent Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, cruise along the Zambezi River, and take a safari trip to Botswana. We will then return to Johannesburg for a trip to Soweto, before flying home.
This tour is about the people and art of Africa. You will hear their stories, visit their homes, and share a meal with them. You will meet the artists who are creating stunning stone sculpture in the Shona villages. You will meet the kids who so much want to attend school, and the teachers who help them learn. These students and teachers have become a part of our Amina’s Gift family; they continue to define our work.
