Pelosta is the fifth of six children in a family of six. Her bubbly personality makes everyone she meets smile. Her teachers adore her inquisitive nature and despite her surroundings, she seizes every opportunity to practice her spoken English. As a result, it is not surprising that her favorite subject is English. When we asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up, her eyes lit up as she described a person who works in the sky and drives the big machines that fly over her school, i.e. a pilot. Pelosta lives at Somerday farm with both of her parents. Both parents are unemployed and rely on subsistence farming to make ends meet.
